| I've been wondering... What do you ladies do after hitting level 80 and you don't raid? Achievements? Rep/mount farming?
My pally is level 76 now, and while I look forward to gearing my first PVE 80 (other one is PVP geared) I'm kind of scared too. Everyone's saying it's easy to gear up right now, so I'm afraid I will get bored with her after that =/
|
| I've been using DoTimer for the longest time, but it's become buggy for me and it's not being updated frequently enough for my tastes. So, ladies, I'm in the market for something new to track my HoTs and DoTs.
I'd be using it mostly for healing with a druid/priest and DPSing with a druid/shaman. Something that's class-specific is probably not a good option for me :)
I need it to separate out targets, so I can see what HoTs are on each party member and for how long. (I tried an addon called NugRunning, it does not do this that I can see, so it's out.)
Ideally, it would also be easy to set up and use, updated somewhat regularly, and relatively bug-free.
So, tell me what your favorite timers and such are. My HoTs and DoTs are in your hands!
|
| Now that my druid is 80, it's time to gear her leafy butt up! Brace yourselves, here come more questions.
I'm tackling Restoration first, because that's my primary love and probably what I'm gonna be used (and abused) for most. Specifically, she's mostly going to be PVE heals.
I'm gathering her gear as fast as I can, and wow-heroes is great for suggesting enchants... but what about gems? As treehealz, what should I be gemming?
Should I be aiming for spellpower as much as I can, or should I be gemming for spirit? A balance of the two?
At what point should I *stop* gemming for spellpower, or should I just keep going as much as I can? (Someone suggested that I stop gemming for spellpower once I hit 2500sp. Y/N?)
What about hitting haste cap, how important is that?
What meta do you suggest?
(As an aside, I'm in half blues and half purples and the random daily heroic threw me and my buddy into H FOS. I had a heart attack, healed half of it pretty successfully while being a nervous wreck, and chickened out before Bron and made my friend heal it, since her mainspec is being a holy priest lol. It was good experience though, and no one died while I was in charge of heals! HAH!)

I'm surprised I hadn't seen this yet! Seen any funny videos lately?

| Hi Ladies, We finally moved over the Christmas and have now been completely without internet for 3 weeks. We were going to get a Wireless service but seem to live in a black hole where no signal penetrates. Does anyone use a Satellite connection like Astra2? I just called one of the local providers and they indicate that it's not sufficient to run something like WoW, is this true for all Satellite services? Any input or advice is much appreciated. | |

| Really, I need help with this. I haven't found anything online, and peeps I know have no idea either.
Is there a way to have the Add-on Healbot not show pets? I turned the Pets slider on the first page of it to 0, thinking that would work... but... pets still show up in my list. D: What am I missing? TAT;
|
| I know there's an add-on for skill updates, right? Because I cannot be the only one that sometimes runs around healing with lvl 10 healing touch when its really at lvl 13! D:
I tried googling this and can't even find the right terms to find such an add-on :[
Plz halp? :D | |

| So, amg yay, my paladin Nitidus dinged 80 last night. It took something like 3 months even with heirloom gear, but I've been busy working on gearing my rogue main. Thanks to the new LFG, I've already bagged myself two pieces of tier for my ret set and gotten quite a few other pieces for a prot set.
While running Old Kingdom, the healer [a guildie] asked, "Nit, do you have Cleanse macro'd for the whole party?" And I sheepishly said No, because I don't deal with Macros, so it never crossed my mind. But I realize they *are* necessary for some things.
My request for you gals is to throw me your useful paladin macros, ret and prot. Even if they're only occasionally used.

| HEAR YE, HEAR YE. It's been a bit of a while since our last social event, so here's what I'm proposing: LOLTASTIC ROLEPLAYING WEEKEND. So here's the thing, read this guide right here. I'll wait while you do that. Did you read it? Okay, now disregard all the proper Roleplaying tips and unleash your most Mary Sue-ish/terribad RP characters you can muster! If this turns out to be something popular, we can have it often. :D What: LOLTASTIC ROLEPLAYING WEEKEND w/ DotH!When: Sat: 12 server PM and Sunday at 1 server PM. Where: The capital of bad Horde RP, Silvermoon City, in front of the main entrance. Look for the dancing Belf boy in a funny dress. Who: YOU (and your Edward Cullen belf that should really be undead but MINOR DETAILS, YES??!) Invite your out-of-guild friends too. Why?: Because you're really itching to try RP in a safe, silly way? And there's nothing on TV on the weekends, really? :D My few rules with this event: - No criticisms on how good/bad the RPing is. Everyone should feel welcome to be terribad RPers :D - Please try to not go overboard with any sexual themes. As funny as ERP (erotic role play) is, if it's overly offensive, it's not appropriate. - Have fun :D This is a no-pressure event. If you want to go all out , that's fine. If you want to just keep it simple and roleplay a level 1 gold beggar, that's awesome. ^_^ Also, I'm taking the idea from somewhere else that we should have monthly birthday parties. If you have a January birthday, come to the RP event and we'll sing the Happy Birthday song to you. XD If you can't make it, I'll mail you some caek. Just comment here if you have a January birthday, please. <3 Jan babies. | |

| Request Post 1/5/09 - Another year, another request post. A bit earlier this time. :D If you are looking for any specific item or crafted materials, or any trade goods, please leave a comment with your request and I'll add it. Also, please leave a comment if you no longer need something listed here for you. Please feel free to respond to other comments if you can help out your fellow guildies with something they need! Crafters, please leave a comment with your profession, skill level (please only those over 225), and specialization so I can add it to the list. Crafters with maxed skill (450) are listed in bold. Kadomi has created some crafting lists for Inscription, Jewelcrafting, and Enchanting on Google Docs. That info can be found here, and I encourage you to speak to her for access to contribute to the lists if you have one of these professions. Anyone can view the lists to see what specific items our crafters have available. Current lockpickers: Ialtag: All lockboxes Kadomi: All Northrend lockboxes Lapli: 180 Makhanitis: All lockboxes Muta: 360 Phaedora: 360-ish Zindiyaa: 318 Morroh: 300 Macks: 225 -------------------- ( HAVES )( WANTS )( WANTS )( CRAFTERS ) | |

| The other day, as part of a resolution, I was cleaning out old drives in an effort to consolidate space/get rid of unneeded jumk. I'm kind of a packrat, and super lazy with files sometimes. In my cleaning I happened upon an old collection of archived raiding photos and things going back to when I first started playing. Amidst all this were all the guild forum signatures I'd made going as far back as MC 40 man. I don't know if anyone else has ever made these for themselves, but it's kind of fun looking back at them in a chronological order. ( 5 years of tiered raiding signatures )Alot of good memories associated with these :3 - Mood:sick

| I hate bugging people, -especially- strangers for things. So, as you can imagine, I feel kind of horrible asking for help and advice from you folks - but I really haven't got anyone else to ask advice from. And this is really freaking bothering me.
I joined an RP guild about a...month and a half ago, I think. They are -very- nice people, I love them. A lot. However, I can't ever get to RP with them. At all. It took over a month for my character(s) to meet more than two people in the guild ICly. I asked about it before, but the person who was supposed to "initiate" my characters was either ICly absent or off RPing with other members in the guild. They've since been initiated, but honestly, I have only gotten to RP with them two or three times since then because they've been busy RPing with other folks. I ask if anyone wants to RP with my characters, and most of the time get outright ignored. It's confusing and discouraging as hell.
I'm not mad or anything. Just really disappointed and I'm blaming myself. I mean, I am NOT experienced at RP by any means. I came from a normal server originally, and I'm better at mashing buttons than I am at talking to people and creating stories or art. OOCly, they really like me, talk to me, and I run heroics and tens with them. They're fun to talk to on vent. I really don't want to leave. I just don't feel like they actually want to RP with me. And that hurts a lot.
I'm...not happy with my current situation right now. And I don't know how to deal with this. I'm not the type to just lolragequit - I actually want to figure out what exactly is deterring them from wanting to be around me. 'Cause this isn't working.
Any...idea what I should do? I honestly don't know how to approach the subject with them, without seeming whiny and angry.

| So! While my hunter has always and will always be my happy lovely main above all mains, I've been working and working on my druid here lately. And now, today, after all this time and with the countdown to server shutdown ticking away, with but five minutes to spare... ( saving your friends pages, one cut at a time. ) | |

| do you think blizzard will ever offer class change? if not, why not? | |

| I've been camping the spawn areas for the nests that the raptor hatchlings come from now (Drood doesn't have them all yet, Warlock just wants monies << he is drowning in a sea of baby raptors) and I was wondering...once I know ALL the spawn points in the different locations, do you guys think it would be useful to anyone for me to make a video showing all the spots to look in? I mean, I know you can use WoWhead or whatever to get coords for them, but I think for some people a visual idea of where to go and look might be better? What do you guys think? The only videos I could find up on Youtube were from back when they still dropped off the rare mobs and not from the nests, so...*Shrug* | |

| I don't know whether any of you are familiar with the FB app Castle Age, and frankly I hadn't even heard of it until this morning when this came up on my feed: Also, the world gameplay takes place in is evidently known as Azeron. Uhm. I did a little research and checked their forums... didn't turn up too much apart from CA players pretending the similarities weren't too glaring to ignore. It's one thing to have a similar premise (and really, what hasn't been done before this day in age?), but the names are another matter entirely. One poster said, It's like that one time I heard an otaku guy say "have you heard the cover Frank Sinatra did of the ending of evangelion, fly me to the moon?" lolno. Apparently there's some debacle regarding Castle Age stealing people's art to use for images in their app, too. But anyway, what do you think? Another of a million useless FB apps imo, though it does sort of irritate me that they couldn't come up with a more original name than Azeron. -_- Also, has anyone played this and is it any good? I feel like all the naming similarities would only make me wish I were playing WoW instead. | |

| I'm totally not a noob, but I have a question, that I cannot Google my way to an answer. Hit cap...Is it the same for all classes? I roll a lvl 80 Dwarf Hunter (whom I adore). I'm currently leveling all variety of alts, but can't find the answer to my hit question. Is there an addon or a resource that anyone uses to evaluate hit? TIA!
Edit: I know what the hunter hit cap is, I am just curious what the cap is for other classes.

| A friend of mine was hacked on December 31. We got it reported within 10 hours of the hack happening. He has his account back., and is currently waiting for his gear to be returned to the character. Last night, he came across a lvl 60 Alliance character stripped naked, AFK and facing a tree. It had a name that was just random characters from the center of the keyboard. Well, the same EXACT name showed up on his LJ as someone who added him to this person's LJ.
Also, has anyone heard of a keylogger being in the version of Carbonite prior to the New Year's Day patch to it?
May be a coincidence, may not be. I personally won't be making any references to WoW in my personal LJ or giving character names.
Sorry for no tag...not sure what to tag this as.

| So...somehow with gear upgrades, I went from like 300 hit to 210 hit. I've managed to boost my hit up to close to cap by changing glove enchants (ouch!) and trading out a yellow gem. (Yes, I know this is the opposite problem of everyone else. But shadow priest T9 has remarkably little hit on it, as does a fair amount of the nice, upgradable gear.)
So here is the question. ATM, I think that I'm close enough to cap to figure that I'm "OK". But...long term, would it make sense to get the hit trinket so that I don't have to spend money on enchants and 200 g gems to get back to hit rating? (Esp. when, yes, I checked, but the spell power I lost from the enchant/gem swap was less than what I would have lost from a trinket swap. On the other hand, if I lose more hit when upgrades come my way, I may find that it's a lot cheaper to just trade out a trinket than get rid of a bunch of yellow gems.) Any advice? Anyone dealt with a similar problem?

| So, my girlfriend and I have been on Moonrunner US for awhile, we're in a great guild with some friends we've made over the past couple of months but we both agree we want to see some more endgame content & hardmodes, or even just achievement runs. There haven't been any guilds on our server that actually have caught our eye, even Hordeside, which is what we're wanting to switch to..
Thus my question lol, anyone know a fairly progressed server with some good guilds on Horde? We're not really picky about server type either though we'd be a bit lost on a RP one lol.
Thanks! :D | |

| A rather amusing little addon that was pointed out to me after raging about the stupidity of GearScore... Ladies and gents, there is now a scoring addon for names, NameScore! My name scored an honorable 90.50/A-, so tell me; what's your NS? - Mood:silly

| I went to a ToC 25 pug last night and needless to say a lot of drama started over an orb. I was a healer and went about to help resurrect the fallen after we downed the first boss.
<lj-cut> I am not a hard core raider my any means. but I really do enjoy RP. My bags are full 99% of the time with fun items and my gear sets (heals, shadow, pvp, and rp ones). I'm usually passing on greens that drop in randoms (no room for it), but this one time... I had an empty bag slot (ran out of candles, we did wipe a bit on this boss... plus I used my only mana pot)..
So when I join the others over by the boss and click on him to check on the loot (who isn't curious to see what dropped?).. I have an empty slot somewhere in my bags for the Crusader's Orb to go into. It went there automatically (I have auto loot on).
I didn't even get time to respond. I see my name and the loot item went to my bags then was greeted by a flame wall of nasty tells and a some rude in raid chat comments from the loot master. I didn't "ninja it" and sent him a tell saying "I can give it to you, give me a second to find it in my bags". I figure that tell to him would be good enough as I start looking through my bags.
It apparently wasn't. I wasn't logged into vent, but a couple of my guildies were and the things the pug was saying was pissing them off. The tells I was still receiving were starting to piss me off.
I stop and type in raid chat something along the lines of "please stop sending such nasty tells. I didn't ninja anything. The loot master didn't set it right for what he wanted and the game rolled it as my loot. Give me a moment to find it in my bags and he can have it. "
The tells continue.
I can't find it. I'm half a sleep and getting frustrated.
People start leaving the raid.
I have no idea what these things look like for an icon. I never had one in my bags until now (its icon makes me think of this one mace..).
I left the raid with a few of my guildies and tossed the orb in our guild bank once I found it. I’d have given it to the raid leader to let everyone roll for it but at that point I followed the directions of what my guild said to do, “just leave, its not worth it”. I didn’t even get a chance to roll for any of the cloth loot (it would have been an upgrade) as I didn’t even see the loot master post for rolls about it in my scrolling spam of whispers I was receiving at that point.
Only one person from the raid non guild mate whispered anything nice, that they understand the full bag / hard to find something bit. They also left the guild they were in since it was mostly there guild starting the drama (like 5 people in the raid were from the same guild, one loot master, other raid leader, etc).
Is it really too much to ask for a minute or a few seconds to find something? </lj-cut>
